Round 28 of Serie A had mouthwatering fixtures spread out from Friday to Monday night with the final fixture seeing Lazio lose out to Udinese at home.
The fixture that caught the attention of most Calcio lovers was held at the Renato Dall’Ara stadium where 4th placed Bologna welcomed Simone Inzaghi’s Inter Milan who were celebrating 116 years since the club was formed.
Inter Milan who are set to face Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid away at the Wanda Metropolitano rested a few of their key players with Alexis Sanchez taking up Lautaro Martínez’s spot in the starting lineup. The Chilean missed out on a great opportunity to keep Inter’s remarkable winning spree on the roll. On the opposite side, Motta’s Bologna had their share of missed chances; Joshua Zirkzee and Lewis Ferguson failing to find the back of the net.
BRILLIANT BASTONI
Rossoblu versus Nerazzurri was a highly anticipated game and such a special fixture required something special to seperate the two in-form side. Inzaghi is known for using his wingbacks very well while attacking and it mostly happens with Federico Dimarco or Carlos Augusto in the former’s absence. The wingbacks link up well with Alessandro Bastoni playing as a left centre back and it was the Italian’s beautiful cross that found young Yann Bisseck, playing right centre back who found the back of the net with a powerful flying header winning the game 1-0. Bastoni had a great shift for Inter, showing his defensive prowess and what he can offers with his ball spraying abilities from across the field.
It’s now just a matter of time before Inter faithfuls watch their team lift the Scudetto with ten games left and their sixteen point gap at the top looking close to impossible to beat.
