Kobbie Mainoo, Manchester United’s 18-year-old midfield prodigy, is on the cusp of a significant contract renewal that will see his wages surge to a staggering £60,000 per week. This substantial raise reflects Mainoo’s rapid rise to prominence within the Red Devils’ squad.
Mainoo’s meteoric ascent began when he triggered a clause in his previous contract, bumping his salary to £20,000-a-week upon reaching 10 first-team appearances. Now, after a string of impressive displays that solidified his place in Erik ten Hag’s plans, the Stockport-born midfielder is set for a monumental 300% pay rise.
This windfall is widely considered to be well-deserved. Mainoo’s current contract expires in 2027, with an option for a further year at United’s discretion. However, negotiations are already underway to extend his stay at Old Trafford until 2030.
